MES RK project 2018-2020
"Study of the nature of unsatisfactory cycling of metal lithium battery anodes"
Project goal:
To identify the influence of the heterogeneity of the corrosion film and its other properties on the processes of charge transfer through it and the formation of lithium dendrites during cycling.
Results achieved:
  1. A theoretical model is proposed to describe the corrosion process, based on the assumption that all the free energy of the chemical reaction in the corrosion process is spent on the transfer of the reagent.
  2. The results obtained in the work are of a fundamental nature and can be used in the process of practical development of lithium high-energy systems. In particular, when creating lithium-ion batteries with a lithium metal anode.
  3. The interpretations of the patterns of charge transfer and diffusion processes during the formation of corrosion films, as well as the quantitative model of the corrosion process, proposed as a result of the work are of a deeply fundamental nature and have no analogues.
