Conductometry plays an important role in the research and development of battery electrolytes, as accurate conductivity measurements can be used to evaluate their efficiency and stability. This method provides important data on the ionic conductivity of electrolytes, which is critical to improving battery power, longevity and safety. Understanding the conductivity of electrolytes helps in optimizing their composition and concentration, which directly affects the performance of battery systems.
Our laboratory uses YSI 3200 conductivity meters and a portable Bante904P conductivity meter, which are characterized by high accuracy and ease of use.
The YSI 3200 Conductivity Meter offers exceptional accuracy for the analysis of a variety of solutions from ultrapure water to highly concentrated electrolytes. For this device in the laboratory there are three cells in the conductivity measurement ranges: 0.1 µS/cm – 10 mS/cm, 5 µS/cm – 30 mS/cm and 10 µS/cm – 10 S/cm. This instrument features Resistance Ratio Technology™, which provides unparalleled accuracy by constantly comparing the sample resistance to a calibrated resistor in the circuit. The conductivity meter measures conductivity, resistivity, salinity, total solutes and temperature. The model also supports linear and non-linear temperature compensation, data storage and logging.
The Bante904P is a portable device that combines the functions of a conductivity meter and a dissolved oxygen meter, making it an ideal solution for field research and laboratory analysis (portable). This instrument is easy to carry and easy to use in a variety of research contexts, offering reliable and accurate measurements.
